I am always looking for quick and easy recipes to make. They have to be something that my kids and my husband will eat. My kids are not very picky and will eat, mostly, anything that I make them, my husband is a different story. This recipe worked for everyone and was a nice breakfast to make before school.
Ingredients:
4 slices Texas toast, cut into sticks
4 tablespoon each melted butter and maple syrup
1 teaspoon each cinnamon and vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Start by slicing the bread in 1 1/2 inch sticks. I ended up using a bread that I got from Panera as I didnt have Texas Toast on hand. I think you can use any thick-sliced bread for this recipe.
Mix together the melted butter, maple syrup, cinnamon and vanilla in a bowl.
Line up the bread and then brush the cinnamon/vanilla/butter/maple syrup on the sticks.
Note: I used a Jelly pan for these but am considering using a wire cooling rack next time. I think this will help the sticks toast better and faster. Just have to make sure that I use an oven mitt so that I don't burn myself.

Cook for 10-20 minutes or until bread is toasted. That's it! A quick and simple breakfast recipe!
My thoughts on this: These taste like a variation on toast with cinnamon and sugar on them. I found them to be a bit dry but I think that was because I was thinking french toast and not toast sticks. Things that I will do differently: Next time, I think I will brush (I might even dip) both sides of the bread with (or in) the cinnamon/butter/vanilla/maple syrup mixture. As said above, I will use a different method of toasting since I used the oven. Overall, my kids loved them and my husband...well, he never tells me what he thinks of my cooking....he usually tells me that it is "not bad."
